RESUMO: O presente artigo se destina a tecer algumas reflexões sobre o ensino de Literatura na Educação Básica, em especial, no Ensino Médio. O objetivo aqui é sugerir propostas para a apresentação dessa disciplina curricular aos alunos, fazendo com que eles entendam o sentido, a importância e o prazer dos estudos literários, e a função que a literatura exerce na capacidade do aluno de perceber o mundo ao seu redor, bem como de interferir nele de modo construtivo e propositivo. Tudo isso está amparado pela crença de que a literatura é um instrumento fundamental para desenvolver a percepção da realidade em sua multiplicidade e complexidade.

ABSTRACT: This article is intended to make some reflections on the teaching of Literature in Basic Education, especially in high school. The goal is suggesting proposals for the presentation of this curriculum subject to students, making them understand the meaning, the importance and the enjoyment of literary studies and the role that literature plays in student's ability to perceive the world around them, as well as to interfere with it in a constructive and purposeful way. All this is supported by the belief that literature is a key tool for developing the perception of reality in its multiplicity and complexity.
