UM NARRADOR EM PEDAÇOS: UMA LEITURA DE BANDOLEIROS, DE JOÃO GILBERTO NOLL

RESUMO: Bandoleiros (1985), de João Gilberto Noll, apresenta a história de um escritor gaúcho narrada em primeira pessoa, porém o nome do narrador não é identificado ao leitor. É ele quem circula por cidades do Brasil e dos EUA, sem fixar-se em nenhum lugar, envolvido em relações conturbadas, e sempre em ruínas, seja com a companheira Ada, o amigo João ou o estranho Steve. O objetivo desta pesquisa é investigar como a ausência de vínculos do narrador; o nomadismo; seu fracasso profissional e a figura do escritor associada constantemente à morte e ao fracasso parecem indicar um sujeito que está em conflito. Espera-se demonstrar ainda que a construção da identidade fragmentada do narrador se reflete também na estrutura textual que se apresenta em flashes, semelhantes a cenas fílmicas.

ABSTRACT: The Outlaws (1985), by João Gilberto Noll, presents the story of a gaucho writer narrated in first person, but the narrator’s name is not identified to the reader. It is he who passes by cities of Brazil and the United States, not settling down anywhere, involved in troubled relationships, and always in ruins, either with his girlfriend Ada, his friend John or the odd Steve. The objective of this research is to investigate how the absence of links of the Narrator; the nomadism; his professional failure and the figure of the writer constantly associated to death and failure seem to indicate a subject that is in conflict. It is expected to show that the construction of the narrator's fragmented identity is reflected also in the textual structure which comes in flashes, similar to movie scenes.
